Can AI be creative? A Workshop on AI & Creativity
On 19th of December Karpos offered a workshop on exploring ways to be creative when using AI tools for content creation. More specifically, in the 4 hour workshop entitled “ΑΙ & Creativity: Experimenting with texts”, 32 participants from different professional background (media professionals, educators, students, artists, psychologists etc.) attended two sessions hosted by exquisite speakers from IT and Research field.
Georgia Koutrika, research director in the Research Center ATHINA, guided participants in LLM and developed their prompting skills, through hands-on activities. What happens when we ask AI to plan a trip for us and what changes can we detect when using different prompts? Participants were asked to complete three exercises in small groups, including writing an article and discussing ways to keep content creation more creative.
In the second session, DIADRASIS, an informatics company, navigated participants to an innovative Virtual Reality platform that uses AI to simulate work interviews for children with developmental disorder. Participants dove in a realistic 3D environment and interacted with a human-like avatar that adjusts its behaviour when using specific prompts. How did avatar’s reactions change with different guidelines and which prompts allowed successful communication and sentimental connection?
The outcome of the workshop was a series of Best Practices, such as:
– Be specific – clarify your questions if needed.
– Avoid ambiguous words/ phrases.
– Use key-words
– Provide Feedback on wrong/ right answers.
– Request reliable sources.
– Always fact-check the information gained.
